FAQ
When is the application deadline?
For September 2026 intakes, the main deadline is April 30. A few universities accept later applications on a rolling basis, so ask us if you've missed it.
Do I have to take the IELTS exam?
No. Most Irish universities accept the Duolingo English Test as an alternative. Duolingo costs around €45, IELTS around €200.
Can I apply without an English proficiency score?
Yes. If your academic background is strong enough, the university issues a Conditional Offer. It becomes unconditional once you submit your English score, usually due a few weeks before the course starts.
What is the minimum GPA required for a master's?
It depends on the program. NCI accepts from 2.0/4.0, Griffith from around 2.5, and the bigger names like UCD or Trinity expect 3.0 and above. You can check the requirement for any specific master's on our course search, or send us your transcript and we'll tell you where you stand.
How much money do I need to show in my bank account?
For your student visa, you need to prove access to €10,000 for living expenses for your first year, on top of your tuition fee. Each additional year of study requires another €10,000.
Can I bring my family with me?
No. Student visas don't allow you to bring spouses, children, or other family members as dependants. They would need to qualify for their own visa separately.
Do universities offer scholarships?
Yes. Scholarships are considered automatically when you apply, there's no separate scholarship application. Awards are based on your GPA and academic profile.
External scholarships from your home country or third parties are separate, and you're free to apply for those on your own.
Can I work while studying?
Yes. Full-time during summer and Christmas holidays, part-time the rest of the year. The Irish minimum wage is €14.15 per hour as of January 2025.
If I finish a master's, can I stay longer in Ireland?
Yes. A master's gets you a 2-year work and residence permit, so you can take any full-time job in Ireland. If you work full-time through that period and land a longer-term role, you can stay beyond the 2 years and eventually qualify for permanent residence.
Do I need health insurance?
Yes, it's required for immigration registration. Student insurance costs around €120 per year, and we help you arrange it.
Will you help me find accommodation?
Yes. We guide you through options, budgets, locations, and the booking process so you don't end up in a bad lease. Cost depends on the type of support you need, we'll explain it when we talk.
What do you charge for your service?
The consultation and our help with getting you settled in Ireland are free. Some specific services may have a fee, we'll always tell you upfront before anything is charged.
